Loon State Gear Grab
Jay, Neil, and I made the trek down to Minneapolis for a good time at the loonstate clothing and gear grab. Beer, Pizza and new cycling clothing were the order of the evening. Jake provided adventure. He can tell you about it as I would rather not elaborate. After the get together, Neil, Jay and I moved back to the great white north to Broadway Pizza in Champlin. Cycling, life and spouses were the talk of the evening. Two pitchers of dark beer (Leine's Big Butt)were put down. Onion rings were consumed and then we were off for the evening. Thanks to the guys for talking me out of late night pizza. I suffered enough from the beer this morning. Even though I didn't drink all that much, It affects my body much more. I am getting old! Thanks to Jay and Neil for talking me out of the late night pizza!

Michelle Bachmann- Minnesota's Pride and Joy
I thought I might have to explain the previous post. Michelle Bachmann spent almost a minute last night holding on to the Prez trying to get a little smooch and photo op at the state of the union. When she got her chance she was magnetized by his presence and couldn't let go. The things she does make me laugh so hard it almost makes up for her being elected!
You take my breath away, Mr. President!
Dear Georgie,
Ever since I saw you in that flight suit on that aircraft carrier yelling "Mission Accomplished!" I've known that you were the one for me. Never mind Tommy, You really are my "top gun"
Love,
Michelle

What a Bad Idea electing these guys was.
I am going to say something provocative here. Truly this mess is not these guy's fault. It is our fault. We elected them. Not once, but twice. We said "stay the course.... That makes alot of sense. Even if it is not going good, Why would I want to change it up and put someone in that has shown good judgement in other areas. That would be silly." We should just let the same guys stay in office and let them try to dig us out of this even though they have shown no capacity to change or adapt or (shocker) make the initial decisions that lay the groundwork for success.
Did you watch the state of the union last night. What you saw is a man that has shown no ability to adapt or make the tough call to change his opinion. He continues to move in the same direction. He is like a gambler that can't dig himself out of the hole. "If I double down I can get out of this." Sorry George, you need gamblers anonymous. But it is not your fault George. It is the American People's. It is our fault. We are the enablers. We should have voted you out and sent you back to the ranch the last time around. Now the deaths of those to come are on our hands. I hope that next time the Republicans get their intervention.

The new music player
Okay, I have become a blog geek. Check the new mucic player. Some of the tunes are great for riding or working out and other ones are just new and cool. Some are classics (who doesn't like the 'femmes and the pistols). It is snowing out today and I will ride the spin bike and hit the weights later.

1987 Tour of Switzerland
Ah, the good old days. Those 7 eleven jerseys are so cool.. Makes me want to drive to Colorado for a slurpy! Seriously, I wish we could get back to this where usa cycling was new and innocent and we weren't coming up positive every other victory and being suspected of doping even when when we didn't test positive.

Baden Cooke and Those Crazy Aussies
Cycling is back! Australia hosted the first real race of the season and the Aussies seem to be using home court to their advantage. It is only a month until the tour of California. If you get a second check out the Tom Danielson interview on velonews. It is obvious he is pissed about the Basso signing. The guy has to put up or shut up as it is obvious that he is not going to be protected as much as last year. We shall see.

Bush is a dumbass....
To send more troops into a conflict that has been mismanaged from the beginning has to be one of the dumbest ideas this man has ever come up with. How can we trust a man that has never made a good decision about this war to make one now? He cannot admit to mistakes. To pull troops out would do exactly that. This is a war that cannot be won by us kicking down doors to find terrorist that we let into the country in the first place. The time to send troops in large numbers was at the beginning of the war. Shinseki was fired when he suggested that. Now the Iraq study group has given recommendations that suggest we should start pulling out. Bush ignores it. Is there a pattern? How can a man that has been a failure most of his life suddenly know more than any of the "experts"? He doesn't. He is incapable of good decisions and his to far down the road and caught up in this to be objective. I have never been one for impeachment of this man, but I might be reconsidering.........
