Lesson Learned for Alberto Contador

Eddy Mercx told Lance after he gifted Pantani the win on Mont Ventoux that there are no gifts in the tour. Lance remembered that today. He saw an advantage and road smart. Alberto got caught sitting at the back on a flat stage. He should know better. That is what makes cycling so great. The student of history knows that the fittest, most physically gifted rider doesn't always win. If contador makes a few more mistakes like today, he will give his shot at the top spot on the podium away. Armstrong will be glad to take it.

Do think lance thinks he cool because he is really good at exercising? Real sports use hand eye coordination

wow..ya know i heard on vs.com in fanarchy that many think that cycling is not a sport worth mentioning at all...amazing to me as most people would really enjoy it if they did it...and would then appreciate the level's at which these guys operate...cycling is such a head game and then add to it the sheer overall fitness you HAVE to have to perform and you have one of the best sports EVER. I would assume the mr.anonymous thinks that nascar is a "sport". cycling, like so many sports, have a specific skill set they use. I would say that cycling is all-encompassing in fitness much like swimming or running...you need total all around to be good at it. oh well...too much time on my hands right now - back to work. mr. anonymous...if you would like... you can come out for a ride in the park for 45 miles and you can find out if your hand - eye coordination is going to carry you through a workout...I am game...if you want to challenge the likes of armstrong or merckx or contador... you might want to spend a few hours in the gym working on your vo2 max and muscle base prior to getting on the race track.

Hey Bill ask Laird Hamilton how he did on Race Across America (RAAM). He must not Have had enough hand eye coordination! Funny, you'd think big wave surfing would get you that.

Contador could afford to make mistakes. He was that good.
