Hincapie a no-go for the Classics!

Courtesy Graham Watson
So, George broke his wrist yesterday working for Levi. It sounds like, per cyclingnews.com, that he is going to have surgery to fix the break. I feel bad for the guy as he has been preparing for a shot at Paris-Roubaix or one of the other classics. This was probably his last realistic shot at one of the major classics. It would be nice for him to have one of the majors to cap his career off. Maybe a world championship. I think he has it in him physically. I do however think he lacks that killer instinct you need to finish a one day race off. I guess you never know. He could very well prove me wrong. And Paris Roubaix has been one by many guys in their mid to late 30's. I do think George is jinxed somehow. I guess we shall see........

What up Neil! Hincapie is 33. He will be 34 in June. How is the training going? I have been following the training blog and you guys are quite the inspiration. I am afraid of Saturday rides. I guess I will just have to sit behind you and suck off your wheel!

Hincapie had his day in the sun....he helped lance, he's taken a yellow jersey. Let him ride of into the sunset with his head held high. We all have such high expectations for athletes these days. Can't we just all agree that he had a great career?

Since I cannot find another place to put this, I will put it here. Who in the hell does Michael Crichton think he is? What are his credentials to criticize Al Gore's?

It's like Gore come out and says hey I am a scientist listen to me. At least he supported his assumptions and claims.

Anyone who thinks that our environment isn't impacted by humans is either really silly, naive, or an idiot. I guess Micheal C. just identified himself with a group.

To the hincapie poster. I totally agree. He one Ghent, two national championships, a tour mountain stage wore the yellow jersey and has been on 7 cycling teams that won the tour. He has a great career. It is a shame he has not won Roubaix.. He has placed 3rd and (i think) second. He has been a class act and I think he deserves all the credit in the world. To the Michael Crichton poster: How random is that?

Random? That's all you have to say about the conservative right using Micheal C. as their puppet to convince everyone that we should just "wait out" global warming?

Conservatives are trying to destroy the world so they can live in a nice home/mansion and take home morally corrupt paychecks, bonus, and captial gains from big oil, big auto, and other ethically-challenged industries.

I have to ask what is more deadly? Being held at gun point or a conservative creating environmental policy.

I know the one I would choose, do you?

No. It is random in the sense that this is a post about George Hincapie and that I don't mention global warming anywhere in the blog. And while I agree with the bulk of your views with regards to global warming, I think you can hardly consider Al Gore a "scientist". He is a well meaning politician turned activist that has to big a power bill. I applaud his efforts to stem the tide, but honestly when he was veep the administration did not sign kyoto nor did they raise the admission standards for automobile manufacturers by any meaningful amount. I consider myself progressive but I disagree with your contention that "CONSERVATIVES" are trying to destroy the world. We all have a hand in that. We are all equally to blame for this. I do feel the republican party is much slower to react on this subject but the democrats have shown no inclination or ability to effect change with the different times they have held power. We all drive cars and we all pollute. It is very hard to in our society. The only way this will change is through systemic change brought about by politicaly painful legislation. None of the politicians are willing to take that on.
