U2 and Green Day

Andrea and I were in Cancun a few months ago and took a look at the rebuilding going on there. That city was totally devastated. It is now 95% rebuilt. Mexico has earned a United Nations award for the effort. Meanwhile we have a major American City sturggling and a entire region of this country largely forgotten by this administation. Bush has just requested another $100 billion for the wars in the middle east. Anyways, Check out this video by Green Day and U2 about Katrina. So put this post in your pipe and Smoke it!

i think this country was built on self reliance, not waiting around for hand outs.

also the rebuliding in cancun has nothing to do with the mexican government, it has to do with corporate investment. as in the mexican government is more than happy to stand aside and let big american companies spend money to rebuild their hotels and infrastructure.

Actually, Not true. It is the romantic that thinks this country was founded on only on hard work. this country has done best and the economy grown the greatest through goverment investment. It does none of us inthis country any good having an entire region of this country without an infrastructure. It does know one in this country any good with hundred of thousands of people displaced from there homes. think about the social and economic costs of letting this situation go unmanaged.
